What stays on your device

Consultations: the perfume and makeup quizzes run in your browser. Your answers aren't sent to Ask Melia or stored.
Virtual try-on: your photo is processed on your device by a face-landmark model that is downloaded from this site. The photo is never uploaded or stored, and it's cleared when you tap "Remove photo" or leave the page. We checked this by monitoring every network request while a photo was processed.

The free-text chat

Where the AI chat is available, the messages you type are sent to an AI model to generate a reply. Don't include personal or sensitive information. Where AI isn't available, a built-in guide answers in your browser and nothing is sent.

Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages and guides are useful. It only runs if you choose "Allow" in the cookie notice, and you can change your mind by clearing this site's data in your browser. We record events such as "consultation started", "consultation completed", "product viewed", "guide viewed" and clicks on brand or retailer links. We never send your quiz answers, photos or chat messages to analytics.

We store your cookie choice in your browser so we don't ask again.

Retailer links

When you click a link to a retailer, that retailer and its affiliate network may set cookies and collect data. Their privacy policies apply from that point.

Messages you send us

If you email hello@askmelia.com, we keep your message and address only as long as needed to reply and to keep a record of corrections.

Melia's Letter is opt-in only. If you subscribe, we store your email address, the page you signed up from and the date, using our website host, Netlify. We use it only to send the newsletter, never sell or share it, and every email includes a way to unsubscribe. To be removed at any time, write to hello@askmelia.com.
